LAS VEGAS (May 16, 2014) – The eclectic band Dirty Heads and Hawaiian trio Pepper will take over the Mandalay Bay Beach stage and perform at the open-air venue Friday, Aug. 8 at 9 p.m. The two groups will spend the summer months touring together in support of their latest albums. Dirty Heads’ fourth album, Sound of Change, is scheduled to be released in July while Pepper’s self-titled sixth studio album was released in late 2013.
Tickets are priced at $39.50, not including applicable service charges, and are now on sale. Tickets are available at all Las Vegas Ticketmaster locations (select Smith’s Food and Drug Centers and Ritmo Latino). Dirty Heads’ breakout album Any Port in the Storm was released in 2008 and included the hit track “Lay Me Down” featuring Rome of Sublime with Rome. The track spent 11 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart before the band released its sophomore album Cabin by the Sea in 2012. The following year Dirty Heads released its first fully acoustic album, Home – Phantoms of Summer: The Acoustic Sessions, which debuted on the iTunes charts’ Top 5. For the aptly titled album Sound of Change, scheduled to release in July, the band expanded its sound with songs varying from club bangers to rap tracks. The album also will include a pop hit, but throughout Sound of Change, Dirty Heads still maintains its reggae-rock feel good vibe. The band’s previous work featured talented artists such as Del the Funky Homosapien, Matisyahu, Rome and Ky-Mani Marley, among others.
Pepper has toured extensively with groups including 311, Slightly Stoopid, Flogging Molly and Sublime with Rome and also have been featured in the movies “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “Good Luck Chuck.” After releasing five albums, Pepper has opened a new chapter in their storied career. The resulting album, self-titled to accentuate where the band feels they are presently, broadens Pepper’s style, veering into new sonic territory while still retaining all the fun elements that make the band so beloved by their fans. The ever-present sense of life surges through the tracks, bolstering the sense of optimism throughout. From their debut Give’n It to their 2006 standout album No Shame, Pepper has embodied not only a style of music but a lifestyle, one that’s most easily found on beaches across the world, but also one that’s relatable to anyone anywhere.
